It was an honor to be invited by the Rick Griffin estate to do the comix colorist thing on this poster by Griffin as part of a public promotion for the 2018 Grateful Dead Stage Art exhibition. It was really interesting to analyze Rick’s palettes and color choices while preparing this - it was important to me that I remain in character with the creators original intentions. And I was able to subtly incorporate a couple optical illusion tricks into the finish. Probably one of my most popular online pieces.
